Felicia grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia where she played in various sports such as basketball, track and field, wrestling, and has become passionate about recreational weight lifting in the past 12 years. She is a Sports Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian, and a mom of 4, so she understands balancing a busy lifestyle with meeting nutrition and performance goals.
Felicia has helped hundreds of clients optimize strength, performance, power, and improve body recomposition (fat loss/muscle growth) through nutrition. She has also helped them achieve their health and nutrition goals, without extreme eating patterns and without completely overhauling their life and eating habits. Research consistently shows that those types of diets are not realistic, not sustainable, and can lead to disordered eating and an unhealthy relationship with food.
She is trained in Sport Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition counselling and has extensive research training (which is critical for providing trusted nutrition information), through a Master of Science in Applied Human Nutrition program and working at a research centre for many years. She also has experience teaching university courses, working as a food industry dietitian, and the past 7 years has worked in private practice and as a clinical dietitian in healthcare.
