Dan grew up in Pasadena, Newfoundland just a short walk away from the local baseball field and basketball court. His passion for sports and athletics was evident from a young age, playing any sport he could.
After high school, Dan pursued his interest in human movement and performance while studying Kinesiology at Memorial University from 2010-2015. Throughout his undergrad degree, Dan began training local high school athletes and instructing fitness classes in the St. John’s area.
Dan’s passion for high-level athletics and sports performance continued to grow, which led him to move to Houston, Texas in 2016 to study for his Master's in the field of Athletic Training. While attending the University of Houston, Dan worked with a variety of D1 sports teams, including Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Football, Track & Field, and Volleyball.
In his final year, Dan was fortunate to work and travel with the men’s basketball team, an NCAA D1 powerhouse program led by Hall of Fame coach Kelvin Sampson. The Cougars, which continually produces NBA and Euro League talent, made the March Madness Tournament every season since 2018, highlighted by runs to the: Sweet Sixteen (2019), Elite 8 (2022), and Final Four (2021).
After graduating with his Master’s in Athletic Training, Dan moved back to Newfoundland in 2018 and accepted the role of Director of Sports Performance for the St. John’s Edge basketball team of the NBLC. During his time with the Edge, Dan handled the daily physical training and rehabilitative work with the team and worked with notable athletes such as Carl English, Glen “Big Baby’ Davis, and Satnam Sing.
Helping athletes develop physically and mentally is one of Daniel’s true joys.
Nick grew up in Paradise, Newfoundland, where he played various sports, but was primarily interested in soccer and hockey. As he got older, Nick developed a deeper passion for hockey as he moved to Aurora, Ontario at 14 years old to attend St. Andrews College and play AAA hockey with the York Simcoe Express. After two years, Nick was drafted to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he played 42 games with the Rimouski Oceanic. During his three years away, Nick became increasingly interested in human movement, healthy living, and preventive medicine. This led to his decision to return home and pursue this new passion.
After attending Mount Pearl Senior High for his final year of high school, Nick began his Bachelor of Human Kinetics and Recreation degree at Memorial University and is now pursuing his Masters in Kinesiology. Following this, he plans to pursue his dream of a career in medicine.
Although Nick has shifted his priorities toward academics since being home, he continues to stay active in the sports community by playing with the CBR Junior Renegades and is now entering his second season with the CBS Senior Blues.
Additionally, Nick has been heavily involved with Ball Hockey Newfoundland as he continues to represent his province and country at both national and international levels.
At Attain, Nick is a big part of progressing Newfoundland sports, helping clients through recovery with effective rehab programs, and assisting athletes to reach their full potential and performance through individualized Strength and conditioning plans.
